FAQ
What is Noosic?
A social home around music — not another streaming app. You get a pixel room, album pages with discussions, a shelf for records you care about, and neighbours matched by taste. Search and browse work without paying us anything.
Is Noosic free?
Yes. The app is free. There is an optional Supporter subscription for in-app cosmetics (room objects, forum badge, character items). It does not unlock music, catalog access, or playback.
Do I need Apple Music?
No — not to use Noosic. You can sign in, search songs and albums, open album rooms, post in discussions, and build your shelf without connecting anything.
Connect Apple Music when you want in-app playback, library sync, and room objects that follow what you actually play. You need an Apple Music subscription for full tracks; previews may be available without one.
Why does a new phone or browser ask for Apple Music again?
Connecting Apple Music is on your Noosic account — library sync stays. Full playback in the browser still needs a one-time Apple MusicKit authorization on that device. That is Apple, not a second Noosic login. Use Settings → Authorize this browser if playback asks again.
Can I play music inside Noosic?
Yes, after you connect Apple Music. Playback runs through Apple in your browser — we do not host audio ourselves. Without a link you can still open official listen links or browse and discuss.
What is my room?
Your home on Noosic: an isometric pixel space that can fill with furniture, posters, and gifts. Some unlocks need Apple Music connected and listening; neighbours can leave gifts either way.
What is an album room?
A permanent page for one album — cover art, discussion threads, and moments. Find albums through search or save them to your shelf. Playback, when you start it, goes through Apple Music.
What is the shelf?
A curated list of albums and songs on your public profile — the records you want people to see you care about, separate from a private listening history.
What gets synced when I connect?
Recently played, saves, and listening metrics — enough to power Song of the Day, streaks, Discover, and room unlocks. Not a second-by-second log. Sync runs while you use the app, on a daily schedule, and when you tap Sync in the header.
Is my room public?
You choose in Settings. Public rooms can be visited and may appear in Discover. Private rooms stay off public listings.
How do I delete my account?
Settings → Account → Delete. You can download a JSON export first. Sign-in stops; music connection tokens and listening snapshots are removed.
